Anthropic's "Permanent 25% Boost" to Claude Code Limits Is Actually a 17% Cut
eyishazyer · x · 2026-08-31
Anthropic announced a "permanent 25% increase" to Claude Code's weekly limits starting Sept 14 — but the current boost is 50%, so going from 150% to 125% of baseline is a net 17% cut. Users did the math within hours.
What genuinely annoyed users was the framing that tried to make a reduction sound like a gift. After the backlash, Anthropic admitted the 17% figure themselves in the same thread, and a Community Note was slapped onto their own post.
