Power user puts Codex Computer Use to work: parallel virtual cursors, auto video editing, and more
tinyfool · x · 2026-08-31
Developer @gengdaJ shares hands-on workflows with OpenAI Codex's Computer Use: multiple tasks run in parallel with independent "virtual cursors/windows" that never fight over the real mouse, so logins, form filling, and screenshot capture can run unattended.
His examples include end-to-end debugging of Obsidian plugins, automating filing/approval on Huawei Cloud and Alibaba Cloud, generating legal research Word reports from logged-in databases, configuring a proxy client, batch-uploading to cloud drives, publishing a sticker pack from scratch (assets generated by the built-in image model), and even reverse-engineering CapCut 11.x so Codex auto-creates drafts and imports multi-track media. Caveat: sites like WeChat Official Accounts and Pinduoduo backend block computer use — Playwright MCP works as a fallback.
