New tool runapex forces small models to self-correct hallucinations in real-time
lovettsendit · reddit · 2026-08-31
The author introduces Hedgemony, a tool that detects AI code hallucinations, and demos a new tool, runapex. Runapex monitors internal model states during generation, interrupting and rewinding the moment the model starts hallucinating. Tests show it reduces lie rates from 80% to under 20%. The system allows briefing small models with context without compromising verification. When a small model fails, it escalates to a stronger agent, ensuring no step in the chain is trusted.
