ClusterMAX team finds serious security holes in billion-dollar neoclouds

AccBalanced · x · 2026-08-31

SemiAnalysis' Jordan Nanos says testing for ClusterMAX 3.0 uncovered serious security issues on high-profile neoclouds — many valued over $1B, serving customers in banking, telco, academia, defense, and national intelligence services of top-10-GDP countries.

Many issues can be patched simply by upgrading drivers and firmware on common components: GPU drivers, CX-7/CX-8 NICs, BlueField DPUs, docker/runc, nct, and more. The team released an article plus a public CLI (pip install clustermax) — run cmax audit security to check software versions on clusters or GPUs and get simple patching instructions.
