Dr. Skill: Manage Your Agent's Loadout and Context Clutter
dbreunig · x · 2026-08-31
The author released "Dr. Skill", a tool designed to manage the clutter of skills and MCPs (Model Context Protocol) in agent development. As the number of skills explodes—citing an enterprise agent loading 600+ skills by default—context windows get polluted. Dr. Skill scans global or project environments to identify 34 different issue categories (e.g., missing descriptions, duplicate installations, scope overlaps).
Key features include:
- drskill scan: Checks and lists errors and warnings.
- drskill list: Views current loadout, supporting filters (e.g., for Claude Code only).
- drskill audit: Analyzes traces to identify actually used skills for cleanup.
- --deep mode: Uses an LLM to deeply judge if skills are duplicates or if descriptions conflict.
