Clone Robotics builds 'Synthetic Human Androids' using fluid-driven Myofibers instead of motors

Clone Robotics CEO Dhanush Radhakrishnan discussed at the Abundance Summit that they are moving away from rigid skeletons and electric motors to build "Synthetic Human Androids." They adopt a human anatomical design featuring an internal skeleton paired with proprietary Myofiber artificial muscles (fluid-driven). While this may appear slow initially, they believe a design rooted in biological principles is essential for long-term success. This approach results in robots that are more natural, compliant, and quiet. Initial versions will be faceless to avoid the "uncanny valley," with facial artificial muscles added incrementally for micro-expressions.
