Opinion thread (RT'd by Teknium): ChatGPT/Claude are bundled services of model + harness (memory, tools, skills), while a local Llama/Qwen download is just the "brain". Layering the free Hermes Agent on top gives it a "body" — researching, remembering, using tools, touching files, running commands. Compare setups harness-inclusive (Qwen+Hermes vs Fable+Claude app), not bare models; models get swapped, the harness you own persists.
