MIT study finds ChatGPT use lowers neural engagement in critical thinking regions

Monitoring 54 students via EEG, researchers found that excessive AI reliance leads to a state of 'mental passivity,' reduced ability to synthesize information, and difficulty recalling work shortly after completion.
