HuggingFace and Pollen Robotics released Microduck, a $399 legged robot that surpassed $1 million in sales within seven hours. Weighing under 800 grams, it features 15 actuators, a camera, and LiDAR, with a one-hour battery life and capabilities like walking, roller-skating, and object manipulation. The software stack is fully open source, including MuJoCo simulation, PPO training, and the onboard control loop, allowing immediate use with a gamepad. Mechanical and electronic design files remain proprietary.
