Open-source 3D map engine Navara launches for GIS visualization
anselm · x · 2026-08-30
ReEarth has released Navara, an open-source 3D map engine designed to visualize a wide range of GIS data, including satellite imagery, terrain, 3D city models, and vector data. It features a declarative styling system for layers and materials, and allows for extensive customization via plugins, APIs, and shaders. Built with Rust and WebAssembly, Navara uses a renderer-agnostic architecture to simplify the creation of complex 3D map scenes.
