ESPectre Enables Camera-Free Motion Detection via Wi-Fi CSI
tom_doerr · x · 2026-08-30
ESPectre is a motion detection system based on Wi-Fi Channel State Information (CSI), allowing it to sense movement without cameras or physical sensors. It integrates natively with Home Assistant via ESPHome, making it ideal for smart home setups. The project recently introduced an experimental ML detector using neural networks that runs on-device without calibration. The repository has garnered 9.2k stars on GitHub.
