Prompt reduces unit test runtime from 8 to 3 minutes
mhmazur · x · 2026-08-30
The author successfully reduced unit test runtime from 8 minutes to 3 minutes using a simple prompt to Claude.
Issues identified and fixed:
- Terminal progress bar consumed 1 minute per run
- Every test user rendered a complete welcome email
- Receipt tests launched headless Chrome to build irrelevant PDFs
Daily test time dropped from 3 hours to 1 hour, requiring only a 10-word prompt.
