Matician open sources robot security framework Portal in response to safety debate

Mehul, founder of Matician, responded to concerns about the security of their consumer robots by emphasizing their privacy-first, offline-capable design and open sourcing their security framework, Matic Portal. Portal consists of Router, Host, and Client components, enabling secure connections via WebSocket over TLS and cryptographically signed tokens. Mehul argued that as a startup with around $100M in total funding, open sourcing is the right approach to security, expecting community support rather than relying solely on capital like big tech companies.
