OpenAI officially announced it is ending its partnership with Cursor following its acquisition by SpaceX. Cursor's direct access to OpenAI models will end on November 12, with OpenAI saying it will support affected developers through the transition.
The quoted commentator called it a "dumbass move": it won't slow competition, signals OpenAI plays games with access, and can't be trusted as a partner — arguing this is why relying on closed-source models isn't safe.
