At the World Robot Conference (WRC), the Dexmal DM0.5 robot peeled cucumbers in an uncontrolled environment with changing lighting, unfamiliar surroundings, and moving people. The robot demonstrated precision and robustness in the physical world, adjusting motion and contact force in real-time to keep the peel thin and even across cucumbers of different shapes.
