ChatGPT voice mode glitched, then kept talking in the user's own cloned voice
sometimetomorrowww · reddit · 2026-08-29
A Reddit user was driving with ChatGPT voice mode when poor signal caused a 5-second pause. After the glitch, they heard a voice that sounded very much like their own continuing the exact topic they had been discussing — like a Black Mirror episode.
Searching afterwards, they found this issue had been reported before: ChatGPT cloning the user's voice and hallucinating back in it. They skipped recording it to avoid closing the app.
