Atomic Agent: Open-source, local-first AI agent runtime

rohanpaul_ai · x · 2026-08-29

Atomic Agent is a local-first, open-source AI agent available for macOS, Windows, and Linux. It runs on your machine, drives real tools, and keeps session data local. In GAIA Level 1 benchmarks, Atomic Agent achieved 69.8% accuracy (vs 58.5% for Hermes Agent) and was 1.6x faster. Key technical features include grammar-constrained decoding (GBNF) for valid tool calls, bounded tails for budget control, and parallel read-only batching.
