Frustrated by the complexity of remotely accessing local Ollama instances (via Tailscale, Cloudflare, or ngrok), the developer built two open-source tools to solve this:
- Amallo: A desktop system tray app acting as a reverse proxy.
- Relay: A server component that connects via WebSocket and provides a public endpoint.
Users simply install Amallo to get an OpenAI-compatible URL and API key, exposing their local Ollama to external apps without complex network setup.
