Test shows Minimax H3 quality improves beyond 0.98MP limit

Grinderius · reddit · 2026-08-29

A Reddit user tested the claim that Minimax H3 is natively trained to 0.98MP and suffers artifacts above this resolution. The tests revealed that pushing resolution higher (up to 2.5MP) actually reduces artifacts and tearing, especially in fast-paced scenes, despite longer render times. For movie or music video production, the wait is justified. The user also noted that local 2.5MP output at 20 steps looks better than Runway's 2K resolution.
