OpenAI Foundation hires ex-Gates Foundation exec to lead high-burden disease efforts

The OpenAI Foundation announced that Vidya Vasu-Devan has joined to lead its work in High-Burden Diseases. She previously led investment teams at a global health biotech VC, served as CSO at a vaccine company, and directed a $2.5B strategic investment portfolio at the Gates Foundation. The Foundation is actively hiring for roles such as AI Deployment Engineer and Director of AI Opportunity Development to leverage AI for scientific discovery and public benefit.
