Investor Spotlights Four AI Frontiers: Personal Models, Sensors, Sims, and Explorers

Investor Paul Zakin outlined four AI categories he's currently exploring:
- Personal Models: The goal isn't for AI to mimic the user's output style, but to internalize the user's taste and judgment to act as a verifier. This could represent a new paradigm of synthetic intelligence.
- Sensors: As the upstream source of data, sensors are critical for proactive agents to determine their tasks and are seen as a current bottleneck.
- Sims: Instead of relying on live production data, agents are tested in simulated environments. Examples include running software products in sim with synthetic users to uncover issues.
- Explorers: Agents that continuously investigate the search space for improvements. This includes autoresearch and agents that "overthink" problems to find non-verifiable optimizations.
