'AI slop makes good creepypasta': haunted robot story goes viral
NickPassig · x · 2026-08-29
In a thread titled "AI Slop makes good creepy pasta", the author live-posts a horror story built on AI-generated material: a little yellow construction robot "23" bought from a sketchy Chinese-language site at 2am accelerates on its own, slams into the wall until a brass key drops out, then stops dead at the bedroom threshold and refuses to go further.
The first-person serialized format shows how AI-generated text — often dismissed as slop — fits the creepypasta genre surprisingly well, part of the recent trend of AI-assisted haunted live-posts.
