Tencent Hunyuan Hy4 launches: 770B params, 1M context, beats Kimi in tests

Tencent Hunyuan released its third major model in six months, Hy4 Preview, now live on WorkBuddy and fully open source. The MoE model features 770B total parameters, 49B active, and a 1M+ token context window. Tencent trained it using expert data from software, gaming, and finance, shaping the model alongside products. Internal blind tests across 203 engineering tasks showed Hy4 scoring 2.99/4, ahead of Kimi K3 (2.94) and GLM 5.3 (2.92). Pricing is aggressive: $6/M input tokens, $18/M output, and $0.3/M for cache hits.
