X exposes Chinese bot farm of 200k accounts manipulating US AI energy policy debates

The X Safety team revealed the discovery of a Chinese bot farm comprising approximately 200,000 accounts. Among them, 200 accounts were found posting to manipulate legitimate debates regarding American AI data centers and energy policy. These posts claimed AI centers are driving up household electricity prices and straining the grid, while others utilized AI-generated cartoons depicting operators enriching themselves at the public's expense.
