AI reconstruction reveals plasma jet physics in galaxy

Marianna Foschi et al. used AI to combine 27 years of radio-telescope observations into a continuous reconstruction of an active galaxy's plasma jet. By learning a unified spatiotemporal representation, the neural network produces sharper images and allows estimation of plasma motion, revealing that bright structures move at similar speeds to the surrounding plasma.
