Ten Production Company Brain Architectures Mapped, All Work Despite Contradictions
femke_plantinga · x · 2026-08-28
Slite released a free ebook, Company Brain 101, built on a survey of 149 teams and interviews with 10+ builders. It maps ten company-brain architectures all running in production: Gorgias's 8-person team runs a 12,000-file knowledge graph that opens PRs against its own docs overnight; another team ditched the graph and runs everything from a plain Git repo; a third combines three retrieval methods and picks one per question. They flatly contradict each other yet all work—a counterpoint to chasing whatever architecture goes viral.
