Descript Launches Video Editing API: MCP, Zapier, CLI Automation for AI Editing
descript · x · 2026-08-28
Descript has launched a video editing API and automation workflow: you define a trigger (new recording, published article, file upload), and the AI assistant Underlord handles importing, transcription, filler-word removal, clip cutting, and caption generation — you only review the final rough cut.
Four integration paths require no developer background: Claude/MCP (trigger API calls via natural conversation), Zapier no-code automation, a CLI, and the direct API. Use cases include auto-generating social clips from podcasts, same-day webinar rough cuts, video teasers from blog posts, and highlight reels from sales calls.
