McEliece Post-Quantum Cryptosystem Broken by Quasipolynomial-Time Attack

Researchers have updated their paper with a quasipolynomial-time distinguisher for the McEliece public-key cryptosystem, extending it to a heuristic key-recovery attack. The attack applies to all Classic McEliece parameter sets considered in the NIST process, yielding improved concrete attack estimates that may impact current security level assessments, though practical efficiency is not yet achieved.
