Fake AI Papers Flood Preprint Sites, Academic Integrity Under Threat

Luiza Jarovsky cited Ethan Mollick's observation that numerous AI-generated fake papers (slop) are appearing on preprint sites under the names of unsuspecting academics. Jarovsky lamented that academia as known is dead but hopes for a reinvention. Mollick warned against assuming all content is real and predicted that decent-quality AI paper mills are coming soon.
