The upcoming 'Persistent Mode' prompt for Codex has been found in its open-source repo. The mode promises a new level of reasoning effort, continuous operation until put to sleep, and the proactive generation of follow-up tasks. The author suggests this will work exceptionally well with GPT-Astra, a model reportedly trained specifically for long-horizon tasks.
