Technique: Sparse Attention via block-level indexers in latent space
SkyLi0n · x · 2026-08-28
SkyLi0n discusses the benefits of block sparse attention masks and shares a method using block-level indexers in a compressed latent space. During training, the indexer predicts full attention scores. The process involves distilling dense attention scores into the indexer and optimizing it using KL divergence loss against the full attention teacher.
