Hugging Face and Pollen launch Microduck, a $399 open-source biped robot you train yourself
clemnt · x · 2026-08-28
Hugging Face has teamed up with Pollen Robotics to launch Microduck, a 25 cm open-source bipedal robot priced at $399 (pre-orders open August 27, 2026, shipping before Christmas).
The core loop is a sim2real workflow:
- Train behavior policies in physics simulation, locally or on Hugging Face Jobs.
- Deploy to the real robot in one step.
- Refine, re-train, and re-deploy.
- Publish trained policies to the community.
Built-in behaviors include a velocity-tracking walk gait, sit & stand, and a kick — each is a retrainable policy. A public simulator is available to try.
