YC W23 startup Outset builds an AI customer research platform used by Google, Microsoft and Nestlé. Its AI interviewers have conducted millions of conversations, giving companies survey-scale speed with one-on-one depth.
In a YC fireside, CEO Aaron Cannon discusses building the product before the market was ready, creating the category of AI-moderated research, landing the first enterprise customer, and how better models changed the product.
Outset is now expanding into a Simulations Lab and Digital Twins, letting companies simulate their customers and get feedback on messaging, pricing, and new products.
