Aidan Clark complained that whenever a Chinese model (GLM, DeepSeek, Kimi, etc.) drops, a glut of anonymous anime-pfp accounts ultra-hype it — and people fall for it every time.
Elie Bakouch (Mistral) pushed back: new OpenAI/Anthropic models get hyped on X just as much or more, so release-day hype bias cuts both ways rather than being a one-sided phenomenon.
