NVIDIA has officially announced that its Vera CPU is now shipping at scale, with AWS receiving the first servers equipped with the new chip.

- Purpose: Designed to handle CPU-bound tasks around AI agents, such as Python execution, tool calling, retrieval, orchestration, and sandboxed code execution.
- Architecture: Features 88 custom Olympus cores and up to 1.2TB/s memory bandwidth.

Independent Benchmarking
Independent testing by Phoronix found Vera to be 10% ahead of the AMD EPYC 9575F on the geometric mean across permitted workloads (which NVIDIA restricted to Vera-relevant tasks). This addresses the bottleneck where agent coordination and code execution can throttle GPU inference steps.
