JIT-Agent boosts performance via Just-in-Time Harness generation
青稞AI · wechat · 2026-08-28
National University of Singapore launched JIT-Agent-27B, introducing the concept of "Harness Intelligence." The model trains on the Agent runtime layer, enabling it to generate task-specific Harnesses on the fly (an executable protocol comprising Memory, Planning, Action, and Capability modules) and learn to repair failed structures. Experiments show that JIT-generated Harnesses significantly improve base model performance on various Agent Benchmarks, outperforming fixed scaffolds like ReAct in multiple tasks while reducing API costs. This research expands the model's role from an action generator to a runtime system constructor (Model-as-a-Harness).
