moyix to host talk on handling auth in autonomous web pentesting
moyix · x · 2026-08-28
Security researcher moyix will host a conversation with @vincentolesen next week on handling authentication in offensive security, drawing on XBOW's autonomous pentesting practice:
- Why auth matters: the highest-value application behavior often sits behind identity and permission boundaries.
- Why auth is hard: SSO redirects, MFA challenges, short-lived tokens, session timeouts, passwordless flows, account lockouts, and more.
- How autonomous agents approach it: establishing and maintaining identity long enough to test the authorization boundaries behind it.
He notes they've come up with fairly robust solutions.
