QNX partners with Hailo for edge Physical AI: 14x performance consistency

QNX, a BlackBerry division, announced support for the Hailo-8 AI Accelerator on QNX SDP 8.0, teaming up to advance reliable Physical AI at the edge for automotive, industrial automation, robotics, and smart infrastructure.
In a benchmark using a Raspberry Pi 5 driving the Hailo-8 (QNX SDP 8.0 vs. real-time Linux), AI workloads on QNX delivered up to 14x greater performance consistency, 2.6x tighter latency distribution, 4.1% higher throughput, and 3.9% lower average latency. The pitch: as AI moves from cloud to edge, deterministic real-time behavior matters as much as raw performance for safety- and mission-critical systems.
