dee_hw · x · 2026-08-27
Autonomous Labs' open-source desktop companion robot Lamp is now on sale: $499 (down from $999), free shipping from Sep 24, with free engraving and volume discounts ($464/unit for 30+).
The pitch is "AI with a body":
- Intentional motion: it hesitates before turning, startles when something crosses its eyes, mimicking living body language
- Physical skills: posture checks, hydration reminders, screen-break nudges
- Digital skills: checks email, books Google Calendar meetings, publishes to WordPress, reads out new GitHub issues
- Skill store: 70+ one-tap skills; you can also teach new skills by voice and it remembers them
The company claims what once took months of robotics engineering now takes seconds.
