NVIDIA reportedly eyeing $12.9B Hugging Face acquisition despite its ~$150M revenue

NVIDIA is reportedly putting roughly $12.9 billion on the table for Hugging Face, which makes only around $150 million in revenue. The rationale: the platform sits directly in front of millions of AI developers, including those building for AMD, Google and custom chips. NVIDIA could end up owning the very place where developers get models designed to avoid NVIDIA. The author calls it a hell of a move with heavy irony. Note this is a rumor and not officially confirmed.
