Weaviate adds 'effort' parameter to tune search quality vs. compute cost
CShorten30 · x · 2026-08-27
Weaviate introduced an 'effort' parameter for Query Agent Search Mode, allowing developers to adjust test-time compute on a per-request basis. This offers control over the trade-off between accuracy, latency, and cost. The 'ultrahigh' setting achieved significant improvements on the BRIGHT benchmark compared to medium effort and standard hybrid search.
