Pollen and Hugging Face launch Microduck, a $399 open-source biped robot you train yourself

Pollen Robotics has teamed up with Hugging Face to launch Microduck, a 25 cm open-source biped robot priced at $399, with pre-orders opening August 27 and shipping before Christmas 2026.
Its core pitch is trainability:
- Every behavior is a policy you can retrain with reinforcement learning on your own machine or Hugging Face Jobs
- The workflow is sim2real: train in physics sim → deploy to the real robot in one step → refine the sim, re-train, re-deploy → publish your policy to the community
- Plays out of the box with behaviors like velocity-tracking walk, sit & stand, and kick
- The simulated twin used for training is publicly available
