Core Lightning battles flood of AI-generated CVE reports
RSync25 · x · 2026-08-27
Core Lightning is triaging a high volume of AI-generated CVE reports, several of which are real. A coordinated fix is underway.
Immediate Action
- Do not shut your node down. Restart it with the --offline flag.
- This stops peer connections (no routing in/out/through) but keeps the node running to watch the chain. A powered-off node cannot act if a counterparty force-closes a channel, which is riskier.
Next Steps
- Signed binaries will be published. Verify signatures before installing and bringing your node back online.
- Source code and reproducible builds will follow for audit.
