NVIDIA and Hugging Face have held serious acquisition discussions in recent weeks regarding a deal that would value the AI model hosting platform at over $13 billion. Separately, Bill Gurley reiterated his view that open-models are the inevitable outcome of high-stakes software competition, arguing that the more that is at stake, the more likely open source wins.
