lilyraynyc · x · 2026-08-27
Google has confirmed the rollout of google.com/goto URL passthrough parameters in search results as a technical measure against evolving abuse, specifically targeting scraping by AI companies and third-party tools.
This change replaces direct links with redirect hops, increasing the difficulty of data extraction. A Google spokesperson stated they regularly take such steps to protect their services and users.
