NSF invests $90M in three new Science and Technology Centers, including human-robot co-adaptation

The U.S. National Science Foundation is investing $90 million over five years in three new NSF Science and Technology Centers (STC), spanning AI, biotechnology, fusion energy and robotics. Judea Pearl highlights the "Human-Robot Co-Adaptation" center as particularly relevant to robotics/AI readers.
Each center receives roughly $6 million annually for an initial five-year period, with the chance to compete for up to five more years. The centers bring together universities, national labs and industry partners to pursue ambitious collaborative research aimed at sustaining U.S. leadership in science and technology, strengthening the STEM workforce and accelerating innovation.
