The silver lining is that some friction is productive, leading to clarification or learning, with users actively attempting recovery in 78.7% of such instances. Effective recovery strategies include challenging the model's reasoning, asking for simpler outputs, and correcting factual errors. Simply repeating or rephrasing requests is less successful. Improving model error-recovery capabilities is highlighted as crucial alongside user education.
