Researchers utilized real, privacy-preserved Claude usage data provided by Anthropic via the Insights system to study human-AI collaboration at scale. While the team initially focused on hypotheses like task criticality, agency, and friction, they found the findings consistently pointed back to the human side of the collaboration. This marks the first time external researchers have had access to such internal lab data.
