Zhipu has officially announced GLM 5.3 Flash Vision (codename Ox Alpha). Key points:
- Compute: Claimed global supply of 100T+ per day fully backed by domestic Chinese chips at low prices
- Performance: Scores 57 on the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index, on par with Opus 4.8
- Pricing: Limited-time half price at just 1/40 of Opus 4.8's cost; a new architecture with 320B total / 18B active parameters brings cost down to 1/10 of the previous GLM 5.3
- Multimodal: Natively multimodal — it can not only see but sense its environment and improve through visual iteration; a demo shows it drawing a kitchen in Blender by itself
The model is live on Zhipu's platform and partner sites, with an open-source release available.
