Anthropic to embed SynthID watermarks in Claude for EU AI Act compliance
DeepLearningAI · x · 2026-08-26
Anthropic announced it will embed invisible watermarks in all future Claude models—and eventually older ones—to comply with regulations like the EU AI Act. For text, Claude implements Google's SynthID methodology, nudging word choices to create detectable statistical patterns. For images, it embeds C2PA metadata. While Anthropic claims output quality won't be meaningfully affected, users remain skeptical.
